No.1 is no number 2

We’ve got a lot of one-nighters coming up this fall. Different city every day. Sounds glamorous… until you start doing the math.
In a pre-production session, Colin, our brilliant sound engineer and production manager, casually dropped this:
“Have you guys thought about a tour bus?”
We said, “No… should we?”
He said, “Think about it. Instead of checking into hotels, checking out of hotels, and still driving everywhere… you finish the show, get on the bus, go to sleep, and wake up in the next city.”
Genius.
We ran the numbers. It might even save us a buck. (Which, trust me, is music to our ears).
So we said, “Alright, Colin… what do we need to know about touring on a bus?”
Without missing a beat, he said:
“There is no number two.”
We blinked. Leaned closer to the screen.
“Sorry… what?”
He repeated, very calmly:
“Rule number one. There is no number two. You do not go number two on the tour bus.”
We said, “That’s rule number one? Not religion? Not politics?”
He said, “Those are on the list… but this is way higher.”
So there you have it. The glamorous life of a touring artist.
Best case: we hit the final note, climb into our bunks, and wake up fresh in Winchester, Ipswich, or wherever we land next.
Worst case: we become very familiar with every late-night Waffle House across the UK.
Let’s just say… no one is allowed to eat the "all you can eat" sushi buffet.
So… you still want to be a rockstar?
Up next: our first stop — The Old Rep in Birmingham.
That's it. I'm not gonna get all mushy.
See ya ~ Kevin
