The AI Incident

This week I accidentally started a tiny war on the internet.

My weapon? A three-second robot video.

Apparently that's all it takes these days.

We were making social posts for Metropolis. I needed a quick three-second shot of an evil robot.

I briefly considered duct-taping a cardboard box to Victoria, painting her silver and handing her two spatulas...

Instead I made a simple AI clip.

Big mistake.

Within hours I had apparently become personally responsible for the collapse of Western civilization.

The camera. The synthesizer. Tools.

AI is a tool.

A guitar is a tool.

A camera is a tool.

Photoshop is a tool.

A paintbrush is a tool.

None of them make art by themselves.

"The mediator between the head and the hands must be the heart."

Kindergarten had it right.

Play well with others.
